On Spotify for desktop app, you can easily reorder songs by Title, Artist, Album, Duration, and Date added.
1. Open Spotify app and choose the playlist you want to change order.
2. Click on the column header Title and you will see a green triangle icon facing upwards next to it, which means all songs are displayed in A-Z order.
Click it again and the green triangle turns facing downwards, which means all songs are sorted in Z-A order.
Click column header Album to sort all songs in A-Z order or Z-A order by Album name.
Or click the clock icon to sort all songs by duration.
You can also click below icon to sort songs by custom order, Title, Artist, Album, Date added or Duration.
For playlists created by yourself, you can drag&drop songs directly to customize order. To drag&drop multiple songs, press the “Ctrl” key (or “Cmd” on Mac) while selecting the songs.
You can’t drag&drop songs to customize songs order in playlists created by Spotify or other users. A workaround for this would be to save the songs from the above playlists to a new playlist.
Select all songs in the playlist. Click on one track in the list to highlight it, then press Ctrl + A (or Cmd + A on Mac) to select all the songs. Right click and choose Add to playlist. Choose your own playlist or create a new one.
Since the feature to listen to songs in order and to pick the song you want it’s a Premium feature, changing the songs order within the playlist it’s available only on a Premium subscription in the Mobile app.
Note: This feature is only available on Premium and playlists created by yourself.
If you’re on Spotify Free you won’t be able to edit the custom order of your playlist via the mobile app, but you can use the desktop app instead or use below alternative!
