Part 1 Convert DRM-free music to MP3

On macOS 10.15 and later

1. Open the Apple Music app.
2. In the menu bar, choose Music > Preferences.
3. Click the Files tab, then click Import Settings.
4. Click the menu next to Import Using, then choose MP3 Encoder.
5. Click OK.
6. Select the songs in your library that you want to convert.
7. Choose File > Convert > Create MP3 Version.
8. New song files appear in your library next to the original files.

On macOS 10.14 and earlier

1. Open the iTunes app.
2. In the menu bar, choose iTunes > Preferences.
3. Click the General tab, then click Import Settings.
4. Select MP3 Encoder from Import Using list.
5. Click OK.
6. Select the songs in your library that you want to convert.
7. Clock File > Convert > Create MP3 Version.

New song files appear in your library next to the original files. The MP3 file is saved to the same directory as the original file.

On your PC

1. Open iTunes for Windows.
2. In the menu bar, choose Edit > Preferences.
3. Click the General tab, then click Import Settings.
4. Click the menu next to Import Using, then choose the encoding format that you want to convert the song to.
5. Click OK.
6. Select the songs in your library that you want to convert.
7. Choose File > Convert, then Create [format] Version.
