On May 10, 2022, Apple announced that it will be discontinuing its iPod touch, the last available iPod model. The product will continue to be available through Apple retailers while supplies last. Apple released its first iPod over 20 years ago. The first model of the device hit the market in 2001, with 5GB of storage – up to 1,000 songs – for the price of $399. The iPod shuffle was released in 2005. It was the smallest of Apple’s music devices and didn’t come with a screen. Apple continued to release different versions of the iPod over the years, such as the nano, until it eventually released the iPod touch in 2007.
With the discontinuation of all iPod products, it is not an easy thing to buy an iPod now. If you have one, don’t let it sit idle. Do you know that you can also play songs from music streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, TIDAL, etc. on your iPod? Here in this article we will show you how to play TIDAL music on iPod Touch/Nano/Shuffle/Classic.
TIDAL is famous for its high quality streaming, although currently both Amazon Music and Apple Music have released HD music. TIDAL’s HiFi Plus tier offer music in Master Quality audio. Master Quality audio reflects the original source and can stream up to 9216 kbps or 24-Bit / 192 kHz (typically 96 kHz / 24 bit).
With Master Quality audio, the label has mined their archives and confirmed that these are the definitive song releases. MQA’s technology ensures this original version is supplied via TIDAL directly to the subscriber: an authenticated and unbroken music file with the highest possible resolution—as flawless as it sounded in the mastering suite. MQA offers our members a more natural, believable, involving and immersive listening experience.
