YouTube Music is one of the most popular music streaming services in the world. It is free to use if you can bear the ads. Besides, YouTube Music premium is included in YouTube Premium, with one subscription you can get two ad-free services. It not only has a large music library, but also lets you upload songs from your own music collection so you can listen to them online from anywhere when you’re away from home.

Same as other music servies, YouTube Music is supported on most devices and speakers. However, Sonos uses who use Android may feel disappointed as you can’t cast YouTube Music to Sonos. The only option is to use the Sonos app.

Option 1. Play YouTube Music on Sonos via AirPlay or Bluetooth

The only way to stream directly from the YouTube Music app is via AirPlay from an iOS device or via Bluetooth to a Bluetooth-enabled Sonos device.

Option 2. Play YouTube Music on Sonos with Sonos app

However, the integration is fairly limited, you can stream music, browse your library, browse an artist or album, but you can’t search any song properly, shuffle all songs or like a song.

Note that although you can add both YouTube Music Free or YouTube Music Premium account to Sonos, you can only play your uploaded songs and albums on Sonos, not including music from YouTube Music catalog.

Can I Cast directly from YouTube Music app to Sonos speakers?

No, you can’t. Currently you still can not be able to cast YouTube Music to Sonos speakers directly from the YouTube music app. Although this feature was available in the old Google Play Music, and many users asked for it since a couple of years, Google still not reply to this.

An alternative is to cast YouTube Music to a TV that uses a Sonos system for audio. The TV will turn on and display album art.
